VOTE: Keep increased Social Security benefits at the top of the agenda

  Social Security Works

Remember when no one was talking about expanding Social Security and increasing benefits?

I do--that was the landscape in which we founded Social Security Works five years ago. When we started our work together, we were fighting against “grand bargains” and fiscal commissions armed with the unlimited resources of Wall Street bankers intent on gambling away our retirement security. Thanks to you, the winds in Washington have changed with Senators from Hawaii to Massachusetts standing with us in our fight to expand, not cut Social Security benefits.

Now, our friends at CREDO Action are giving us an opportunity to receive up to $100,000 in funding, if you vote for us today! Click here before March 31 to vote for Social Security Works and to support our work without opening your wallet.

Help us continue our work in a few simple (and free) steps:

  1. Go to www.credodonations.com
  2. Select the checkbox next to “Social Security Works”
  3. Enter your name & info
  4. If you have ever taken action with CREDO, identify yourself as a CREDO Action member.
  5. Click “Submit Vote!”
Each year, CREDO Action offers grants to some of the most impactful non-profits in the country. Thanks to your overwhelming support, Social Security Works received $191,636 the last time we were on CREDO's ballot.

Vote today to help us receive up to $100,000 in funding from our friends at CREDO Action. Help ensure that we have the resources to fight the current Republican attack on Social Security and keep the momentum for expansion on our side.

The forces that have been working for almost 80 years to dismantle our Social Security system have stood up and taken notice. We've been name-checked in a Washington Post editorial, and Orrin Hatch has spoken against our efforts on the Senate floor. That's because they're scared. It is no secret that Social Security has a $2.8 trillion surplus, can pay out every benefit owed to every eligible American for the next 18 years and approximately 80% of benefits owed after that. And all we need to do is ask the very wealthy to start paying their fair share and we can not only extend the lifespan of the Social Security trust fund, we can expand benefits for millions of Americans.

But, sadly, Republicans in Washington are more interested in manufacturing phony crises and promoting policies that benefit their friends on Wall Street instead of protecting the retirement security of millions of hardworking Americans.

Thankfully, we have YOU on our side!

Vote for Social Security Works today and help us receive our second CREDO Action grant and continue our work to expand, not cut Social Security!

Thank you for all of your support.
